Digital Signature: new integration in Alfresco with Alfred Finder

Digital Signatures have become the new normal however, there are still many misconceptions about them. Does a digital signature have the same legal value as written signatures? What is the importance of identification in a signature session? Does the end-user always have to download software when signing documents digitally? Consumer purchases, business-to-business transactions, and governmental administration are daily processes that require paperwork that often needs to be signed. In this digital world, many organizations aim to deal with these processes in both an efficient and secure way. Yet, 95% of all contracts are still on paper with an analog ‘wet signature’. This has become an obsolete process as digital signatures have become perfectly secure and time-saving alternatives ( Source: Connective Digital signatures). Document management systems generally offer good security and control access to the document and the ability to change documents. However, when a document leaves this secure environment it is exposed to potential changes. With any digital document, it is easy to modify the content or copy the images and create realistic but fraudulent documents. Fortunately, cloud-based business services make it easy to create digital signatures and verify these at any later time. Digital signatures provide strong evidence of sign-off and approval (nonrepudiation) plus document authentication (integrity) and they lock the document against unauthorized change. Connective is a company that breathes Digital Transaction Management. The Connective solution is a software platform that offers identification and identity verification services (Identity Services), digital content generation (Smart Documents), and electronic signatures (eSignatures). A solution that works out-of-the-box, on any device, anytime, anywhere! In the past months, we have been working on integrating Connective e-Signature in the Alfresco Digital Business Platform. The E-signatures functionalities can be integrated into your own web application via the flexible and fully functional Application Program Interface (API).

Once the documents have been uploaded in Alfresco, users can sign them themselves or have them signed by others, via our integration in Alfred Finder: they can easily manage approvals, mandates, signing methods, signing orders, legal notices, and expiry dates. Through one single point of integration Connective’s solution offers you plenty of identity methods and other signing methods that are available to electronically sign documents. This includes a wide range of European eID-schemes that are compliant with the eIDAS Regulation. Unlike on paper, there are many different ways to sign digital transactions. Each type has a different level of evidential power and legality, each type bringing its own user experience. Watch our webinar, where we demo different types of electronic signatures.
